Our Name - Nuestro nombre
A lot of people have been asking what our name means. Capuyo is the same as Capullo with a little Chicana twist, spelled with a Y instead of the double L. Capullo translates to Cocoon or a Bud in English.
Capullo is a flower that has yet to bloom, or a caterpillar cocoon before it becomes a butterfly.
Capuyo is also Daisy’s nickname that her father gave her, and it comes from the song Capullo y Sorullo by Sonora Dinamita.
We hope you like the name and now understand the meaning behind the name that means a lot to us.
Mucha gente ha estado preguntando qué significa nuestro nombre. Capuyo es lo mismo que Capullo con un pequeño giro chicana, escrito con una Y en vez de la doble L. Capullo se traduce a Cocoon o un Bud en inglés.
Capullo es una Flor que aún no ha terminado de abrir sus pétalos o un capullo de oruga antes de que se convierta en mariposa.
Capuyo también es el apodo de Daisy que su padre le dio, y proviene de la canción Capullo y Sorullo de Sonora Dinamita.
